Welcome to the new CWU Retired Members Website

Welcome to the new CWU Retired Members Website. If you are reading this you are looking at the CWU Retired Members Blog page.

For sometime now the unions Young Workers Website has included a Blog and it was decided that the new Retired Members Website should have one also. The aim is to encourage retired members to use the new site and Blog to communicate and keep in touch with old colleagues, share opinions on all issues affecting retired members, including Union policy and politics, inform other members of events or meetings that are of interest to retired members, praise or complain about issues or the Union’s policies and in fact express your views on all issues that you believe are important or need discussing. The only condition is that all posts should be in line with the Union’s policies regarding racism, sexism, bullying etc. and that the language used must not be offensive or rude.

We hope that the improvements made to the site will make it easier for members to access and contribute to and will be used by individual retired members, CWU Regions/Branches and activists to communicate with each other and inform and organise members across the UK. The site will also be used by the national union to keep members informed of all matters relating to retired members, including meetings, conferences and campaigns. However it will only be a success if retired members use the site for passing on information, keeping in touch with developments and each other and using the site to express their opinions on all matters relating to retirement.
